Then Samuel answered, Speak; for thy servant heareth." – 1 Samuel 3:10    When Samuel heard God call his name, it was not a one-time event. God called Samuel repeatedly four times in total. Each call emphasized God's purpose and plan for Samuel's life. Because Samuel was still young and inexperienced, he did not immediately recognize the voice of God.
