Anointed for What? Understanding the Purpose of the Anointing There is a question we must ask whenever we speak about the anointing: Anointed for what? The anointing is not simply about how someone looks, sounds, preaches, sings, or ministers. It is not merely a spiritual experience that makes a person appear different. The anointing is revealed through action, purpose, and the abiding presence of God within a Kingdom citizen. The anointing is the power and presence of the Holy Spirit working within a person. It empowers that person to become a vessel through whom God can accomplish His purposes beyond ordinary human ability. The anointing enables us to move beyond natural limitations, resist transactional relationships with God, and continually manifest His goodness through our lives.
