  A Growing Appetite: Moving from Milk to Meat in Spiritual Growth "I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able." – 1 Corinthians 3:2    Spiritual growth requires proper nourishment. In 1 Corinthians 3:2 , Paul writes to the church at Corinth explaining that he fed them with milk instead of meat because they were not yet able to handle deeper teaching. Paul's desire was for the church to grow spiritually and mature in their understanding of God.    Just as natural life develops from childhood to adulthood, spiritual life also grows in stages. It is not healthy to remain a spiritual child forever. God calls believers to grow from being children of God, to adolescents in God, and ultimately to mature adults in God.
