  Is It Really a Silent Night?  "When he opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven for about half an hour." – Revelation 8:1    People sing of a silent night , a holy night , where all is calm. Yet during the Christmas season with its hustle, bustle, shopping, parties, and gift exchanges, how much time do people actually take for silence?   Silent night… silent morning… silent afternoon. When do we pause long enough to experience true silence? Scripture reminds us, “The Lord is in His holy temple; let all the earth keep silence before the Divine.” Silence is not empty, it is sacred.    Silence offers a way to pray by listening rather than speaking.
