Is It Really a Silent Night? Rediscovering Holy Silence at Christmas

Candle glowing in silence symbolizing holy stillness and divine presence

Is It Really a Silent Night?

"When he opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven for about half an hour." – Revelation 8:1

People sing of a silent night, a holy night, where all is calm. Yet during the Christmas season with its hustle, bustle, shopping, parties, and gift exchanges, how much time do people actually take for silence?  Silent night… silent morning… silent afternoon. When do we pause long enough to experience true silence? Scripture reminds us, “The Lord is in His holy temple; let all the earth keep silence before the Divine.” Silence is not empty, it is sacred.

Silence offers a way to pray by listening rather than speaking. It allows space to hear God instead of filling every moment with words. “Be still and know that God is God.” In the busyness of the season, people are invited not to neglect the holy practice of silence.

Not All at Once

Spiritual growth does not happen all at once. Revelation 8:1 reminds us that even heaven pauses. Silence is part of divine rhythm, not an interruption.

Firstly: A Complete Process

Prayer is a complete process. It includes sound, music, spoken word and silence. Embracing the full spectrum allows deeper connection with the Divine. Silence is not the absence of prayer; it is an essential part of it.

Secondly: Silence

In silence, people discover space to listen deeply. This sacred pause allows awareness of the Spirit of God within, bringing clarity, peace, and inner knowing. Silence tunes the heart to divine guidance.

Thirdly: Resilience

Resilience is built through re-silence returning to silence again and again. Each return strengthens calm, clarity, and direction. From silence, people rise renewed.

In silence, Thinking is quieted, Theology becomes divine listening, and Treatment transforms into action aligned with the highest and best. Silence reshapes how life is lived.

Is it really a silent night? It can be when silence is chosen intentionally. This season, allow heaven’s pause to become your own.

📖 Reflection: Where can you intentionally create space for silence during this season?

💡 Action Step: Set aside five uninterrupted minutes today to sit in silence, listening for divine guidance rather than speaking.

Why Me? God’s Glory (Romans 8:18) Why? That's a question often in our Souls. Why is this happening to me? Why am I having this experience? Why am I facing this health challenge? There's an answer! Why am I having these relationship challenges? There’s an answer, and it’s the same one. Why am I having this financial challenge? There’s an answer! There’s an answer to every question in your Soul, and the answer is glory. The reason for every experience in your life is so that God can get the glory. The purpose of all our challenges is not to bring us down but to transform us and bring glory to God. Why am I having this test, this trial, this tribulation? So God can get the glory. Why am I experiencing this persecution, this headache, this pain? So, God can get the glory. Why am I witnessing this miracle, sign, or wonder? So, God can get the glory. Why am I having this challenge in my local assembly, in my ministry, in my business, and in my organization? There’s a Grace on Your Life

There’s a Grace on Your Life "By grace you have been saved, through faith and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God."    Ephesians 2:8 (KSB)    In Ephesians chapter 2, one word stands out repeatedly: grace . But what is grace? Grace is God’s unmerited favor, His love poured out on us, not based on anything we've done or failed to do. It’s not about what we think or don’t think. It’s simply a gift. A beautiful, divine surprise.  Imagine receiving an unexpected bonus at work, you did your job, and suddenly you're given more than you earned. That’s grace. It comes when you least expect it and fills you with joy and wonder. This is how God extends His grace freely, abundantly, and lovingly.  Throughout Ephesians 2, Paul highlights how grace is woven into our salvation. “By grace you are saved” means you didn’t do it yourself. Salvation is the awakening in your spirit to the truth that  you are God's beloved .   ...

You Are in God’s Will: How to Receive Your Divine Inheritance

You Are in God’s Will: How to Receive Your Divine Inheritance "In whom also we have obtained an inheritance because we were predestined according to the purpose of God, who works all things after the counsel of Divine Will."  Ephesians 1:11    Affirmation: My health is optimal because it’s God’s will that all of my relationships are harmonious.                                                    Ephesians 1:11 reminds us that we have obtained an inheritance through Christ. If earthly parents and grandparents can leave behind an inheritance of tangible and intangible value land, homes, recipes, wisdom, or even prayer, how much greater is the inheritance from our heavenly Father?  An inheritance implies that someone thought of you before their passing, made intentional plans, and had a desire for your future. Similarly,...
