Yet there are seasons when heaven seems quiet and familiar avenues of guidance appear silent. In 1 Samuel 28:6, King Saul sought direction from the Lord, but he received no answer through dreams, the Urim, or the prophets. Rather than waiting patiently, Saul turned to an ungodly source for answers a decision that led him farther from God's will.    This passage reminds us that spiritual openness is not about forcing God to speak in the ways we expect.
