Hope Dealers: Activating Mustard Seed Faith Through Prayer and Fasting

Hope Dealers: Activating Mustard Seed Faith

Person praying in faith seeking hope and spiritual strength

"If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed... nothing shall be impossible unto you."
– Matthew 17:20

The presence of the Lord brings fullness of joy, and at His right hand are pleasures forevermore. When we consecrate ourselves setting aside time to align with God we position our hearts as vessels ready to be used. In these sacred moments, we become conduits through which the Holy Spirit flows, empowering us to impact the lives of others. When vision is clear, people thrive, and God moves in powerful ways to gather His people for His glory.

In Matthew 17:14–21, we encounter a powerful moment of desperation and divine intervention. A father, overwhelmed with grief, brings his son to Jesus. The child suffers greatly falling into fire and water symbolizing a life spiraling out of control. Despite seeking help from the disciples, there was no breakthrough. This reflects a reality still present today: many come seeking help while battling depression, anxiety, and hopelessness, yet leave unchanged when power is absent.

This moment reveals a critical truth: hopelessness is often the starting point for transformation. As believers, we are called to recognize these moments not as endings, but as opportunities for God’s power to be revealed. We are called to become Hope Dealers those who carry and release the hope of Christ into broken situations.

A Hope Dealer is first a disciplined follower of Jesus. Titles do not define this identity discipline does. While many follow casually, true disciples cultivate faith intentionally. Jesus teaches that even faith the size of a mustard seed has the power to move mountains. This kind of faith is not passive it is activated through belief, trust, and consistent spiritual practice.

Faith requires understanding that God, the great I AM, is both present and responsive. When we diligently seek Him, we unlock the ability to inject hope into situations that seem beyond repair. Whether facing societal pressure, personal struggles, or uncertainty, Hope Dealers carry the solution: unwavering faith in Jesus.

Jesus also reveals that some breakthroughs require deeper spiritual discipline. He explains that “this kind” only comes out through prayer and fasting. This teaches us that certain challenges demand more than surface-level faith they require consecration, humility, and intentional pursuit of God.

Prayer aligns us with God’s will, while fasting sharpens our spiritual sensitivity. Together, they break strongholds, dismantle generational patterns, and open the door to divine healing and restoration. When we move beyond comfort and commit to these disciplines, we position ourselves for supernatural results.

Ultimately, the message is clear: what seems impossible becomes possible through faith in Jesus. The church is called not just to exist, but to function in power bringing healing, restoration, and hope to a hurting world. As disciplined followers, we are responsible for carrying that hope boldly and consistently.

When you embrace your role as a Hope Dealer, you become a living testimony that faith works. Through prayer, fasting, and unwavering belief, you step into a life where nothing is impossible, and the power of God flows freely through you.

📖 Reflection: Where in your life do you need to activate mustard seed faith and trust God for the impossible?

💡 Action Step: Set aside intentional time this week for prayer and fasting, asking God to strengthen your faith and use you as a Hope Dealer in someone else’s life.

Why Me? God’s Glory (Romans 8:18) Why? That's a question often in our Souls. Why is this happening to me? Why am I having this experience? Why am I facing this health challenge? There's an answer! Why am I having these relationship challenges? There’s an answer, and it’s the same one. Why am I having this financial challenge? There’s an answer! There’s an answer to every question in your Soul, and the answer is glory. The reason for every experience in your life is so that God can get the glory. The purpose of all our challenges is not to bring us down but to transform us and bring glory to God. Why am I having this test, this trial, this tribulation? So God can get the glory. Why am I experiencing this persecution, this headache, this pain? So, God can get the glory. Why am I witnessing this miracle, sign, or wonder? So, God can get the glory. Why am I having this challenge in my local assembly, in my ministry, in my business, and in my organization? So God can get the...
The Sacred Sunday Posture:  Kneeling “ A man with leprosy came to him and begged him on his knees; if you are willing, you can make me clean (Mark 1:40).” In addition to bowing your heads and closing your eyes, many people learn to “get on your knees and pray.” Often, it’s at night before going to sleep. Parents instruct their children to kneel on the side of the bed and say their prayers. Perhaps you have fond memories of kneeling and reciting the Lord’s Prayer or the 23 rd Psalm. Or maybe you were taught, like me, “Now I lay me down to sleep. I pray the Lord my soul to keep. If I should die before I wake. I pray the Lord, my soul, to take. God bless mommy, daddy...” Kneeling is a physical way to revere God as your Creator and remember that God is your Source. “Know that it is the Lord, who is God. It is he that has made us and not we ourselves. We are his people and the sheep of his pasture (Psalm 100:3).” Without reverencing and ...

Hidden Treasure: You Are a Vessel, Not Just an Instrument

I AM Not an Instrument. I AM a Vessel “But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.” – 2 Corinthians 4:7 (KSB) Hidden in Plain Sight The image that Paul presents in 2 Corinthians 4 is that of a treasure hidden within an earthen vessel. In the Old Testament, people didn’t have locks, alarm systems, or cameras to protect their valuables. Instead, their belongings were often left exposed, making them vulnerable to thieves and robbers. To safeguard their most valuable treasures, they would hide them in jars of clay—earthen vessels—placing them in plain sight. A thief or robber would never think to look there because it wasn’t an obvious hiding place. Likewise, God has placed something valuable inside of you—a treasure of great worth. Yet, people often fail to see it. You may be right in front of them, but they don’t recognize your gifts, skills, talents, anointing, abilities, or sensitivities. You are hidden in plain sight bec...
