If It’s Not Ripe, Then It’s Not Right: Trusting God’s Timing in the Reaping Process

Revelation 14:15 reveals that reaping is a divine process requiring patience and discernment.

If It’s Not Ripe, Then It’s Not Right

"Then another angel came out of the temple and called in a loud voice to him who was sitting on the cloud, ‘Take your sickle and reap, because the time to reap has come, for the harvest of the earth is ripe.’" – Revelation 14:15

Reaping is a process. Just because fruit appears on the tree does not mean it is ripe or ready to be taken. Revelation 14 clearly outlines this divine order: identify the fruit, apply the sickle, and then gather the harvest. Fruit is a sign but not every sign is an instruction to act immediately. Wisdom discerns timing. Spiritual maturity understands that appearance is not readiness.

   Firstly: Ripe

Ensure that whatever you are preparing to pull from the tree is truly ripe. Just because a manifestation appears does not mean it is ready to be received or handled. Fruit often needs more time on the vine. Its appearance confirms that prayers, principles, and practices are working that the promise is manifesting. If it is not ripe, allow it to grow. Patience possesses the soul, even when fruit is visible. Let it develop fully acquiring its proper color, taste, nutrients, and strength. Premature harvesting robs fruit of its fullness.

   Secondly: Sickle

Many pull fruit too soon, missing the richness of what could have been. Scripture reminds us that after doing the will of God, we may still have need of patience to receive the promise. Love is patient and kind and this patience applies not only from seedtime to harvest, but also from fruit-appearance to full maturity.

In business, sprouts appear, but wisdom waits before withdrawing all resources. In relationships, signs emerge, yet one may not rush into engagement or marriage. In education, success shows up, but one may complete another semester with excellence. In home buying, the process must mature. Even speech requires patience. Speaking too soon can interrupt growth. Let the fruit remain until it gains its full measure.

   Thirdly: Harvest

There is fruit on the vine, and there is no need to rush it. God has a blessing and a promise with your name on it. God does not lie, and God does not disappoint. You can breathe and know that all is well. Humble yourself under the mighty hand of God, and in due season, God will exalt you.  If it is not ripe, it is not ready. Give it time. The fruit is evidence that your energy and effort are not wasted that manifestation is already in motion. Do not pull it off yet; let it come into fullness.

   Conclusion

Pointing to the power and presence of God within, Jesus declared, “Behold, the kingdom of God is within you.” There is an abundant harvest prepared for you. Let it ripen fully.

   The Reaping Process (Revelation 14:15)
   1. Ripe
   2. Sickle
   3. Harvest

📖 Reflection: Where in your life might God be asking you to wait just a little longer for full ripeness?

💡 Action Step: Practice intentional patience this week—pause before acting and affirm, “God’s timing is perfect, and my harvest is maturing.”

Refocus Your Faith: How to Overcome Distraction, Disappointment, and Discouragement

Refocus Your Faith: How to Overcome Distraction, Disappointment, and Discouragement "For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision has any value. The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love."   Galatians 5:6 (KSB)    With everything going on around us, it's easy to feel lost. Distractions come quickly, disappointments pile up, and discouragement sneaks in. We all face these moments. But even when we get off track, there is a way back and that path is through our faith, principles, and core values.  When you live your life anchored in principles, it gives you a compass for when the road gets unclear. Knowing your vision, your mission, and your core values makes it easier to realign when life feels out of control. But if you don’t know who you are, how can you get back to being your best self? If you don’t know what you stand on, what can you stand up on after a fall?    Clarity of purpose keeps you ...

Universe Means One Thing: Love

Universe Means One Thing: Love "For all the law is fulfilled in this one word, love: Love your neighbor as yourself."   Galatians 5:14 (KSB)    Sometimes, the word “universe” can feel mysterious even spooky to some. Others think it's irreverent or sacrilegious when used in spiritual conversations. But what if we redefined it? What if “universe” simply meant love? What if it meant God, since God is love?  When we say, “the universe,” we can think of it as pointing to one word love. Just one word. The entire Bible, composed of 66 books and written by over 40 different authors, ultimately speaks to one central theme: love. From beginning to end, this divine book points us toward loving God, loving ourselves, and loving others.  In the Old Testament, God's people had 636 laws civil, ceremonial, and moral. They guided everything from relationships to religious festivals. But then Jesus came and said, “Let me make this simple Love God. Love yourself. L...

Hidden Treasure: You Are a Vessel, Not Just an Instrument

I AM Not an Instrument. I AM a Vessel “But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.” – 2 Corinthians 4:7 (KSB) Hidden in Plain Sight The image that Paul presents in 2 Corinthians 4 is that of a treasure hidden within an earthen vessel. In the Old Testament, people didn’t have locks, alarm systems, or cameras to protect their valuables. Instead, their belongings were often left exposed, making them vulnerable to thieves and robbers. To safeguard their most valuable treasures, they would hide them in jars of clay—earthen vessels—placing them in plain sight. A thief or robber would never think to look there because it wasn’t an obvious hiding place. Likewise, God has placed something valuable inside of you—a treasure of great worth. Yet, people often fail to see it. You may be right in front of them, but they don’t recognize your gifts, skills, talents, anointing, abilities, or sensitivities. You are hidden in plain sight bec...
