It’s a Faith Thing: Living Beyond the Senses

Faith Is Now: Walk By It

(2 Corinthians 5:7)

"For we live by faith, not by sight."

Today, I asked people to rate their faith on a scale from 1 to 10, with 1 being the lowest and 10 being the highest. The responses varied—some rated themselves at a 5, while others felt they were at a 10. Faith is something we can reflect on and evaluate to better understand where we are in our spiritual journey and walk with God.

So today, I invite you to examine your faith. Where are you with your faith in God? How strong is your hope in Him? How deep is your trust? How consistent is your dependence on God? Are you leaning on Him and trusting in His truth?

Illuminated path symbolizing faith walk step-by-step
Faith is about making divine transactions. In the heavenly realm, your good is already done. Faith is the ability to move that good from the spiritual realm into the physical one. As the Scripture says, “The just shall live by faith,” and “The steps of a good person are ordered by the Lord.” Faith is not static—it’s dynamic. It’s a journey. That’s why we call it a walk. We walk by faith, not by sight. Faith is movement. Faith is momentum.

Picture a path ahead of you. Faith is your journey along that path. I know I’m going somewhere—and with every step I take, God steps ahead with me. You are never alone. Faith is knowing that God is always with you, every step of the way. “Your Word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.” I am praying
today that you hear something that causes your faith to grow and unfold. “Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.”

It’s a faith thing. So, where are you on your faith walk? Where are you on your faith journey? Let’s make it personal. Let’s move beyond philosophies and ideas. Where are you in your faith today?

Faith is always now. If it’s in the future, it’s not faith. “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Faith is rooted in the present moment. If you’re stuck in the past, you may feel depression. If you’re obsessed with the future, you may feel anxiety. The solution is the present moment.

Breathe. Inhale. Exhale. Center yourself. In this present moment, there is peace. In this present moment, there is trust. In this present moment, faith lives. Faith is always now.

Love is eternal. Hope is for the future. But faith is for now. Faith is very present. “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” Faith is now. Faith is God. God has given everyone a measure of faith. You live by faith daily—whether you’re standing on concrete, trusting it will hold you, or driving your car, trusting it will get you home.

A shining pathway leading into a radiant horizon, where each step brightens the path forward in faith.
Faith is a gift from God. You can’t create it on your own. It’s a fruit of the Spirit—just like love, joy, peace, gentleness, goodness, self-control, meekness, and patience. Faith is divine evidence. “The one who comes to God must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who diligently seek Him.”

Without faith, it is impossible to please God—because God is faith. Faith comes from God. Faith is God. The Bible says that Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness. “The just shall live by their faith.” I am just, and so I live by my faith—not by my senses. Sight represents the senses. “For we walk by faith, not by sight.” That means we live beyond what our eyes can see, what our nose can smell, what our mouth can taste, what our ears can hear, or what our hands can touch.

Faith moves us beyond our senses and into the spiritual realm.

You can believe in anything—positive or negative, good or evil, light or darkness. But faith is always good. God says, “I know the plans I have for you... plans to prosper you and not to harm you, to give you a future and a hope.”

Faith is your power to bring heaven to earth. It’s your ability to manifest what’s already done in the invisible. “Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” Faith is your transaction tool to bring your good from the spiritual realm into the physical one.

(2 Corinthians 5:7)

Faith is always NOW!
Faith is always GOD!
Faith is always GOOD!

Reflection Question:
On a scale from 1 (lowest) to 10 (highest), how would you rate your faith today?

Why Me? God’s Glory (Romans 8:18) Why? That's a question often in our Souls. Why is this happening to me? Why am I having this experience? Why am I facing this health challenge? There's an answer! Why am I having these relationship challenges? There’s an answer, and it’s the same one. Why am I having this financial challenge? There’s an answer! There’s an answer to every question in your Soul, and the answer is glory. The reason for every experience in your life is so that God can get the glory. The purpose of all our challenges is not to bring us down but to transform us and bring glory to God. Why am I having this test, this trial, this tribulation? So God can get the glory. Why am I experiencing this persecution, this headache, this pain? So, God can get the glory. Why am I witnessing this miracle, sign, or wonder? So, God can get the glory. Why am I having this challenge in my local assembly, in my ministry, in my business, and in my organization? So God can get the...
The Sacred Sunday Posture:  Kneeling “ A man with leprosy came to him and begged him on his knees; if you are willing, you can make me clean (Mark 1:40).” In addition to bowing your heads and closing your eyes, many people learn to “get on your knees and pray.” Often, it’s at night before going to sleep. Parents instruct their children to kneel on the side of the bed and say their prayers. Perhaps you have fond memories of kneeling and reciting the Lord’s Prayer or the 23 rd Psalm. Or maybe you were taught, like me, “Now I lay me down to sleep. I pray the Lord my soul to keep. If I should die before I wake. I pray the Lord, my soul, to take. God bless mommy, daddy...” Kneeling is a physical way to revere God as your Creator and remember that God is your Source. “Know that it is the Lord, who is God. It is he that has made us and not we ourselves. We are his people and the sheep of his pasture (Psalm 100:3).” Without reverencing and ...

Where Is the Love? Learning to Recognize God's Presence Through Galatians 5

Where Is the Love?    One of my favorite duets is by Donny Hathaway and Roberta Flack: "Where Is the Love?" It asks, "Where is the love that you said you would give to me?" It's a timeless question and one that’s just as spiritually relevant today.    In Galatians 5 , Paul writes to the churches in Galatia about the contrast between the works of the flesh and the fruit of the Spirit. He helps believers understand how to discern what’s truly of God. And here's the spiritual compass: love is God's signature . "And envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God."   Galatians 5:21 (KSB)    Whatever you do whether it’s cooking a meal or making a major decision ask yourself: "Where is the love?" Is love your motive? Is love present in your tone, your actions, your intentions?  Paul’s letter urges us to determine whether we are operati...
