Thanksgiving Makes the Difference: From Healing to Wholeness Through Gratitude

Thanksgiving Makes the Difference

"Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed." – 1 Peter 2:24

Life is creatable. Life is not fixed. We co-create with God the life we desire and deserve through silence, thoughts, words, and actions. These spiritual tools lead to manifestation and forward progress. This teaching focuses on the fifth stage of creation: manifestation.

The backdrop for this lesson is the cleansing of the lepers, and the subject is manifesting healing, health, and wholeness. The key truth is simple yet profound: Thanksgiving makes the difference. Thanksgiving moves us from healing to health and ultimately into wholeness.

What distinguishes healing, health, and wholeness? Thanksgiving. In every circumstance, there is something for which we can give thanks. Gratitude lifts vibration, draws more good, and aligns us with God’s will for absolute good.

Christian giving thanks to God in prayer and worship

"In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you." – 1 Thessalonians 5:18

A gratitude practice such as journaling fills the heart with appreciation for people, lessons, and blessings. Thanksgiving shifts energy from a lower frequency to a higher vibration, opening the door for manifestation.

The story of the ten lepers illustrates this truth clearly. Leprosy was a deadly, contagious disease in Jesus’ day. Ten lepers cried out for mercy, and Jesus instructed them to show themselves to the priest. As they moved in obedience toward their good, they noticed they were cleansed.

All ten were healed, but only one returned to give thanks. That one entered into wholeness. Thanksgiving is always appropriate before, during, and after any situation.

"O give thanks unto the Lord, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever." – Psalm 107:1

Thanksgiving, praise, and worship lift vibration. Complaining, comparing, and competing lower it. Each of us is responsible for our own energy and frequency. Run your own race competing only with the last version of yourself.

Lift your vibration through the three T’s: Thoughts of gratitude, Words of praise and thanksgiving, and Actions of worship. This creates space for divine presence.

"Lift up your heads, O ye gates; and be ye lift up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in."

Firstly: Many People Experience Sickness. Sickness is part of the human experience, but it is meant to pass through not remain. We are fearfully and wonderfully made.

"I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made." – Psalm 139:14

Pain, disease, discomfort, and dysfunction are temporary. The body is equipped with an immune system designed to restore balance. Allow sickness to pass through release it.

Secondly: Some People Experience Healing. Healing is a covenant benefit and a spiritual birthright.

"Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases." – Psalm 103:3

Thanksgiving makes the difference between sickness and healing. Through thankful thoughts, words of praise, and acts of worship, we move into healing.

Thirdly: Few People Experience Wholeness. Wholeness means spirit, soul, and body are aligned nothing missing, nothing broken, nothing out of place.

All ten lepers were healed, but only one returned in thanksgiving and received wholeness.

"And he said unto him, Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole." – Luke 17:19

Many stop at physical healing through medicine, doctors, or even miracles. But wholeness manifests health, harmonious relationships, and provision. Intensified thanksgiving elevates healing into wholeness.

Scripture declares healing is already accomplished:

"By whose stripes ye were healed." – 1 Peter 2:24

Conclusion: Thanksgiving makes the difference from sickness to healing and from healing to wholeness. Spirit produces wholeness, soul experiences healing, and the body manifests health.

Will you choose wholeness? Embrace the three T’s Thoughts of gratitude, Words of thanksgiving and praise, and Actions of worship and allow health, harmony, and abundance to flow freely. God bless.

📖 Reflection: In what area of your life can intentional thanksgiving move you from healing into complete wholeness?

💡 Action Step: Begin a daily gratitude practice by listing three things you are thankful for each morning and offering praise before you see the outcome.

Why Me? God’s Glory (Romans 8:18) Why? That's a question often in our Souls. Why is this happening to me? Why am I having this experience? Why am I facing this health challenge? There's an answer! Why am I having these relationship challenges? There’s an answer, and it’s the same one. Why am I having this financial challenge? There’s an answer! There’s an answer to every question in your Soul, and the answer is glory. The reason for every experience in your life is so that God can get the glory. The purpose of all our challenges is not to bring us down but to transform us and bring glory to God. Why am I having this test, this trial, this tribulation? So God can get the glory. Why am I experiencing this persecution, this headache, this pain? So, God can get the glory. Why am I witnessing this miracle, sign, or wonder? So, God can get the glory. Why am I having this challenge in my local assembly, in my ministry, in my business, and in my organization? The Sacred Sunday Posture:  Kneeling “ A man with leprosy came to him and begged him on his knees; if you are willing, you can make me clean (Mark 1:40).” In addition to bowing your heads and closing your eyes, many people learn to “get on your knees and pray.” Often, it’s at night before going to sleep. Parents instruct their children to kneel on the side of the bed and say their prayers. Perhaps you have fond memories of kneeling and reciting the Lord’s Prayer or the 23 rd Psalm. Or maybe you were taught, like me, “Now I lay me down to sleep. I pray the Lord my soul to keep. If I should die before I wake. I pray the Lord, my soul, to take. God bless mommy, daddy...” Kneeling is a physical way to revere God as your Creator and remember that God is your Source. “Know that it is the Lord, who is God. It is he that has made us and not we ourselves. We are his people and the sheep of his pasture (Psalm 100:3).” Without reverencing and ...

Where Is the Love? Learning to Recognize God's Presence Through Galatians 5

Where Is the Love?    One of my favorite duets is by Donny Hathaway and Roberta Flack: "Where Is the Love?" It asks, "Where is the love that you said you would give to me?" It's a timeless question and one that’s just as spiritually relevant today.    In Galatians 5 , Paul writes to the churches in Galatia about the contrast between the works of the flesh and the fruit of the Spirit. He helps believers understand how to discern what’s truly of God. And here's the spiritual compass: love is God's signature . "And envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God."   Galatians 5:21 (KSB)    Whatever you do whether it’s cooking a meal or making a major decision ask yourself: "Where is the love?" Is love your motive? Is love present in your tone, your actions, your intentions?  Paul’s letter urges us to determine whether we are operati...
