It Was Supposed to Happen: Trusting Divine Order Through Revelation 3:7

It Was Supposed to Happen: Trusting Divine Order

"What He opens no one can shut, and what He shuts no one can open." – Revelation 3:7

As we look at the life of Elijah, we see a series of events unfolding in precise divine order. The famine, the brook, and Zarephath were not random occurrences, they were intentional movements orchestrated by God. Each season prepared Elijah for the next manifestation of God’s presence and provision. The famine was supposed to happen. It was part of divine order. Through the famine, Elijah was directed to the Brook Cherith, where God sustained him with water from the brook and provision delivered by ravens bread and cooked flesh, morning and evening. In this season, God revealed Himself to Elijah in ways he had never experienced before.

The Brook Was Supposed to Dry Up

The brook drying up was not failure, it was transition. The raven stopping its delivery was not abandonment, it was instruction. Both events were part of divine order, designed to move Elijah forward rather than leave him stagnant. When the brook dried and the raven no longer came, Elijah heard the next word from God: “Get thee to Zarephath; behold, I have commanded a widow woman there to sustain thee” (1 Kings 17:9). What appeared to be loss became the doorway to new provision.

Everything Is Flowing in Divine Order

We often label events in our lives as either positive or negative. Yet the truth is that everything is flowing in divine order. What feels like an ending is often a signal that God is opening another door. One event takes place to make room for the next manifestation of God. When something dries up, stops working, or comes to an unexpected close, it does not mean God has left, it means He is moving you.

It Was Supposed to Happen

   1. The Drought and the Famine

   2. The Brook and the Raven

   3. The Widow and the Cake

Every season whether barren or abundant serves a divine purpose. God shuts one door only to open another, leading His people step by step into greater revelation, trust, and provision.

📖 Reflection: What has recently dried up in your life that God may be using to move you into your next season?

💡 Action Step: Instead of resisting change, pray for clarity and obedience to follow God’s next instruction, trusting that it is all happening in divine order.

Why Me? God’s Glory (Romans 8:18) Why? That's a question often in our Souls. Why is this happening to me? Why am I having this experience? Why am I facing this health challenge? There's an answer! Why am I having these relationship challenges? There’s an answer, and it’s the same one. Why am I having this financial challenge? There’s an answer! There’s an answer to every question in your Soul, and the answer is glory. The reason for every experience in your life is so that God can get the glory. The purpose of all our challenges is not to bring us down but to transform us and bring glory to God. Why am I having this test, this trial, this tribulation? So God can get the glory. Why am I experiencing this persecution, this headache, this pain? So, God can get the glory. Why am I witnessing this miracle, sign, or wonder? So, God can get the glory. Why am I having this challenge in my local assembly, in my ministry, in my business, and in my organization? So God can get the...

There’s a Grace on Your Life

There’s a Grace on Your Life "By grace you have been saved, through faith and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God."    Ephesians 2:8 (KSB)    In Ephesians chapter 2, one word stands out repeatedly: grace . But what is grace? Grace is God’s unmerited favor, His love poured out on us, not based on anything we've done or failed to do. It’s not about what we think or don’t think. It’s simply a gift. A beautiful, divine surprise.  Imagine receiving an unexpected bonus at work, you did your job, and suddenly you're given more than you earned. That’s grace. It comes when you least expect it and fills you with joy and wonder. This is how God extends His grace freely, abundantly, and lovingly.  Throughout Ephesians 2, Paul highlights how grace is woven into our salvation. “By grace you are saved” means you didn’t do it yourself. Salvation is the awakening in your spirit to the truth that  you are God's beloved .   ...

You Are in God’s Will: How to Receive Your Divine Inheritance

You Are in God’s Will: How to Receive Your Divine Inheritance "In whom also we have obtained an inheritance because we were predestined according to the purpose of God, who works all things after the counsel of Divine Will."  Ephesians 1:11    Affirmation: My health is optimal because it’s God’s will that all of my relationships are harmonious.                                                    Ephesians 1:11 reminds us that we have obtained an inheritance through Christ. If earthly parents and grandparents can leave behind an inheritance of tangible and intangible value land, homes, recipes, wisdom, or even prayer, how much greater is the inheritance from our heavenly Father?  An inheritance implies that someone thought of you before their passing, made intentional plans, and had a desire for your future. Similarly,...
