Everyone Gotta Know Who Jesus Is

"The cross and empty tomb representing Jesus as the Beginning of the Resurrection"

Everyone Gotta Know Who JESUS Is (Colossians 1:27)

The book of Colossians is filled with correction and clarification. In chapter 1, the Apostle Paul addresses misunderstandings within the church, making sure that everyone clearly knows who Jesus is. Just like the old gospel song reminds us, “Everybody ought to know who Jesus is” Paul wanted the Colossians to have no confusion, no misconceptions, and no doubts.

"He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For in him all things were created..." – Colossians 1:15-16

In Colossians 1:15–20, Paul gives us four key revelations about Jesus Christ that every believer must understand:

1. Jesus is the Image of the Invisible God
Although God is Spirit, Jesus came in human form to show us the visible image of God. As John 1 declares, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” Jesus reveals God’s nature, power, and love in ways humanity could see and understand. He is the second Adam who shows us our divine potential and reminds us, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

2. Jesus is the Firstborn of All Creation
Jesus is called the “only begotten Son,” but He is also the firstborn, the elder brother among many sons and daughters of God. As the divine prototype, He shows us how to balance our humanity and divinity. Before anything was created, Christ was already in the mind of God as the example for all of humanity to follow.

3. Jesus is the Head of the Church
Paul describes the Church as the body of Christ, with Jesus as the Head. Just as the body depends on its head for direction and life, the Church depends on Christ for leadership, guidance, and unity. He is the brains of the operation, showing us how to live as the light of the world.

4. Jesus is the Beginning of the Resurrection
Jesus was the first to rise from the grave on His own authority, victorious over death, hell, and the grave. But His resurrection is not the end; it is the beginning. It assures us that we too will rise. Just as He rose, we can rise above sin, limitations, and even death itself. His resurrection power lives in us.

So, let’s be clear: Jesus is the Image of the Invisible God, the Firstborn of Creation, the Head of the Church, and the Beginning of the Resurrection. Everyone has to know who Jesus is.

📖 Reflection: How do these four truths about Jesus shape the way you live and see your purpose in Him?

💡 Action Step: Take time this week to meditate on one of these truths each day and pray about how it applies to your life.

Refocus Your Faith: How to Overcome Distraction, Disappointment, and Discouragement

Refocus Your Faith: How to Overcome Distraction, Disappointment, and Discouragement "For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision has any value. The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love."   Galatians 5:6 (KSB)    With everything going on around us, it's easy to feel lost. Distractions come quickly, disappointments pile up, and discouragement sneaks in. We all face these moments. But even when we get off track, there is a way back and that path is through our faith, principles, and core values.  When you live your life anchored in principles, it gives you a compass for when the road gets unclear. Knowing your vision, your mission, and your core values makes it easier to realign when life feels out of control. But if you don’t know who you are, how can you get back to being your best self? If you don’t know what you stand on, what can you stand up on after a fall?    Clarity of purpose keeps you ...

There’s a Grace on Your Life

There’s a Grace on Your Life "By grace you have been saved, through faith and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God."    Ephesians 2:8 (KSB)    In Ephesians chapter 2, one word stands out repeatedly: grace . But what is grace? Grace is God’s unmerited favor, His love poured out on us, not based on anything we've done or failed to do. It’s not about what we think or don’t think. It’s simply a gift. A beautiful, divine surprise.  Imagine receiving an unexpected bonus at work, you did your job, and suddenly you're given more than you earned. That’s grace. It comes when you least expect it and fills you with joy and wonder. This is how God extends His grace freely, abundantly, and lovingly.  Throughout Ephesians 2, Paul highlights how grace is woven into our salvation. “By grace you are saved” means you didn’t do it yourself. Salvation is the awakening in your spirit to the truth that  you are God's beloved .   ...
Why Me? God’s Glory (Romans 8:18) Why? That's a question often in our Souls. Why is this happening to me? Why am I having this experience? Why am I facing this health challenge? There's an answer! Why am I having these relationship challenges? There’s an answer, and it’s the same one. Why am I having this financial challenge? There’s an answer! There’s an answer to every question in your Soul, and the answer is glory. The reason for every experience in your life is so that God can get the glory. The purpose of all our challenges is not to bring us down but to transform us and bring glory to God. Why am I having this test, this trial, this tribulation? So God can get the glory. Why am I experiencing this persecution, this headache, this pain? So, God can get the glory. Why am I witnessing this miracle, sign, or wonder? So, God can get the glory. Why am I having this challenge in my local assembly, in my ministry, in my business, and in my organization? So God can get the...
