I Believe in People but My Faith Is in God

"Christian baptism in water representing new life in Christ."

I Believe in People, But My Faith Is in God (Ephesians 4:5)

"There is one Lord, one faith, and one baptism." Ephesians 4:5 (KSB)

In Ephesians chapter 4, the Apostle Paul encourages the church at Ephesus to live in unity, equality, and peace. He reminds them that there is only one body, one Spirit, and one hope. That one Spirit is the Spirit of God, that one body is the body of Christ, and that one hope is eternal and good. But Paul goes even deeper: “There is one Lord, one faith, and one baptism.” When Paul says “one Lord,” he is declaring that there is only one true power and one presence in the universe, God. Every other ruler or authority ultimately draws their power from Him. Scripture reminds us that promotion does not come from the east, west, or south, but from the Lord. God alone lifts up and brings low. All authority flows from Him, and He remains the one source of power in our lives.

Paul continues by saying there is “one faith.” While the world speaks of many different religions and belief systems, Paul points us back to the truth: there is only one faith that truly matters, faith in the one Lord, faith in God. Titles, traditions, and religions may vary, but real faith is trusting in the power and presence of God. My faith cannot rest in people, because people no matter how well-intentioned can disappoint. Scripture warns us that it is vain to place our trust in man. But God will never leave us or forsake us. Even when earthly relationships fail, God remains faithful. That is why my faith is in Him alone Yes, I believe in people. I believe in their God-given gifts, talents, and callings. But my faith is not in people my faith looks up to God. People may stumble, but God never fails. His faithfulness is everlasting.

Finally, Paul says there is “one baptism.” This is not about how many times someone is dipped in water, but about being baptized into Christ Himself. Baptism represents cleansing, renewal, and new beginnings. To be baptized into Christ is to be immersed in His life, His teaching, His Spirit, and His resurrection power. It means that when He died, we died with Him, and when He rose, we rose with Him to walk in the newness of life. True baptism is about living in Christ and allowing His Spirit to transform how we think, speak, and live.

Ephesians 4:5 reminds us of this divine truth: There is only one Lord, one faith, and one baptism.

One Lord – God is the only true power.
One Faith – Our faith must rest in Him alone.
One Baptism – Immersion into Christ and new life in Him.

📖 Reflection: Where have you been tempted to put your faith in people instead of God? How does today’s reminder help you shift your focus back to Him?

💡 Action Step: This week, place your trust in God above all else. Encourage someone by reminding them that even when people fail, God never does.

The reason for every experience in your life is so that God can get the glory. The purpose of all our challenges is not to bring us down but to transform us and bring glory to God. Why am I having this test, this trial, this tribulation? So God can get the glory. Why am I experiencing this persecution, this headache, this pain? So, God can get the glory. Why am I witnessing this miracle, sign, or wonder? So, God can get the glory. Why am I having this challenge in my local assembly, in my ministry, in my business, and in my organization? There’s a Grace on Your Life

There’s a Grace on Your Life "By grace you have been saved, through faith and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God."    Ephesians 2:8 (KSB)    In Ephesians chapter 2, one word stands out repeatedly: grace . But what is grace? Grace is God’s unmerited favor, His love poured out on us, not based on anything we've done or failed to do. It’s not about what we think or don’t think. It’s simply a gift. A beautiful, divine surprise.  Imagine receiving an unexpected bonus at work, you did your job, and suddenly you're given more than you earned. That’s grace. It comes when you least expect it and fills you with joy and wonder. This is how God extends His grace freely, abundantly, and lovingly.  Throughout Ephesians 2, Paul highlights how grace is woven into our salvation. “By grace you are saved” means you didn’t do it yourself. Salvation is the awakening in your spirit to the truth that  you are God's beloved .   ...

You Are in God’s Will: How to Receive Your Divine Inheritance

You Are in God’s Will: How to Receive Your Divine Inheritance "In whom also we have obtained an inheritance because we were predestined according to the purpose of God, who works all things after the counsel of Divine Will."  Ephesians 1:11    Affirmation: My health is optimal because it’s God’s will that all of my relationships are harmonious.                                                    Ephesians 1:11 reminds us that we have obtained an inheritance through Christ. If earthly parents and grandparents can leave behind an inheritance of tangible and intangible value land, homes, recipes, wisdom, or even prayer, how much greater is the inheritance from our heavenly Father?  An inheritance implies that someone thought of you before their passing, made intentional plans, and had a desire for your future. Similarly,...
