Seeking, Searching, and Settling (Mark 1:36-37) People are seeking and searching, and they don’t even know it. They don’t realize that what they are looking for is God, and God is within. They are seeking, searching, and settling for a person, a place, a thing, a substance, a behavior, or an activity, not realizing that what feels missing in their life is God. What feels broken in their life is because they are looking for God. They are seeking and searching without even realizing it. You think it’s in a person, and that’s why you’ve been impacted by what people say and do and by the rejection you’ve experienced because you believe it’s found in a person. You think you are seeking love from this person, but love is already inside you because God is inside you. You’ve moved from relationship to relationship, but what you are truly seeking is God. The biblical Jesus or the whitewashed Jesus often presented in Hollywood and the movies? The real Jesus is not who you think he was. The real Jesus came from a blended family everyone didn’t have the same father in Jesus’ household, and they weren’t all full-blood brothers and sisters. They were a blended family.
