Unity in the Spirit: How Equality Brings Peace

Unity in the Spirit: How Equality Brings Peace (Ephesians 4:3)

Sunrise over calm waters representing the bond of peace

"Endeavor to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace." Ephesians 4:3 KSB

Unity is not something we have to fight for or create, it already exists. In Ephesians 4:3, Paul encourages us to endeavor to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. This unity is found in the Spirit because we are all spiritual beings. In Christ, there is no male or female, Jew or Greek, bond or free we are one in Him. There is no separation between us and God. "I and the Father are one." There is no separation between us and good, for God withholds no good thing. There is no separation between us and each other, every man is my brother, every woman my sister, every child my child. In the Spirit, prejudice, discrimination, and divisions disappear.

God’s promise in the last days is to pour out His Spirit on all flesh, breaking gender, age, and social barriers. The unity is not in the flesh but in the Spirit. Where there is unity, there is strength. Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. Unity leads to equality, and equality leads to peace. When I see myself as one with you, I treat you as equal. Peace removes the need for conflict, crime, and injustice because everyone is valued the same. Paul tells us to keep unity not to create it, but to guard it like something valuable we already possess. Just as we keep track of our keys, glasses, or loved ones, we must safeguard the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

How do we do this? First, realize it,  know the truth that we are one. Then, maintain it, keep it alive in your heart. Finally, share it, through your words, actions, songs, poems, plays, and conversations. Preach it, teach it, write it, sing it. Lift the energy of the earth, raise the vibration of the universe, and let the glory of God be seen around the globe. We are one. One love. One Spirit. One God. Remember this truth and live it daily.

📖 Reflection: What is something valuable in your life that you consistently strive to keep safe and how can you treat unity in the same way?

💡 Action Step: Take one intentional action today to promote unity whether by reconciling with someone, celebrating diversity, or sharing a message of peace.

Why Me? God’s Glory (Romans 8:18) Why? That's a question often in our Souls. Why is this happening to me? Why am I having this experience? Why am I facing this health challenge? There's an answer! Why am I having these relationship challenges? There’s an answer, and it’s the same one. Why am I having this financial challenge? There’s an answer! There’s an answer to every question in your Soul, and the answer is glory. The reason for every experience in your life is so that God can get the glory. The purpose of all our challenges is not to bring us down but to transform us and bring glory to God. Why am I having this test, this trial, this tribulation? So God can get the glory. Why am I experiencing this persecution, this headache, this pain? So, God can get the glory. Why am I witnessing this miracle, sign, or wonder? So, God can get the glory. Why am I having this challenge in my local assembly, in my ministry, in my business, and in my organization? So God can get the...

There’s a Grace on Your Life

There’s a Grace on Your Life "By grace you have been saved, through faith and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God."    Ephesians 2:8 (KSB)    In Ephesians chapter 2, one word stands out repeatedly: grace . But what is grace? Grace is God’s unmerited favor, His love poured out on us, not based on anything we've done or failed to do. It’s not about what we think or don’t think. It’s simply a gift. A beautiful, divine surprise.  Imagine receiving an unexpected bonus at work, you did your job, and suddenly you're given more than you earned. That’s grace. It comes when you least expect it and fills you with joy and wonder. This is how God extends His grace freely, abundantly, and lovingly.  Throughout Ephesians 2, Paul highlights how grace is woven into our salvation. “By grace you are saved” means you didn’t do it yourself. Salvation is the awakening in your spirit to the truth that  you are God's beloved .   ...

Where Is the Love? Learning to Recognize God's Presence Through Galatians 5

Where Is the Love?    One of my favorite duets is by Donny Hathaway and Roberta Flack: "Where Is the Love?" It asks, "Where is the love that you said you would give to me?" It's a timeless question and one that’s just as spiritually relevant today.    In Galatians 5 , Paul writes to the churches in Galatia about the contrast between the works of the flesh and the fruit of the Spirit. He helps believers understand how to discern what’s truly of God. And here's the spiritual compass: love is God's signature . "And envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God."   Galatians 5:21 (KSB)    Whatever you do whether it’s cooking a meal or making a major decision ask yourself: "Where is the love?" Is love your motive? Is love present in your tone, your actions, your intentions?  Paul’s letter urges us to determine whether we are operati...
