The Kingdom Mandate: Discovering, Deciding, and Decreeing the Promises of God

The Kingdom Mandate

"Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant looking for fine pearls. When he found one of great value, he went away, sold everything he had, and bought it." - Matthew 13:45–46 (KSB)

Buried treasure chest representing the kingdom of heaven

We don’t always get it right the first time. Sometimes we need to try again. Whether it’s a loan, a class, or a job application, setbacks happen. But just as we’re called to be patient with ourselves and others, God is patient with us. Jesus understood this. Remember the blind man He healed twice, first with partial sight, then full clarity. Healing didn't happen the first time; it happened the second time. So must our persistence reflect that divine patience. In Matthew 13, Jesus shares multiple parables to teach about the Kingdom of Heaven because He knew people wouldn’t always understand on the first go. He repeats, “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like…” to emphasize the need to grasp the message through repetition. Like the man who sold everything to buy fine pearls, we, too, are on a journey of discovery, decision, and ultimately, ownership of God’s promises. We live in a world of edits and rewrites, where even our best efforts require a second look. Editors exist because first drafts are rarely perfect. Spiritually, we’re no different. We study, pray, and seek truth over time, not all at once.

The man in the parable was searching. What are you searching for? The Bible says, "Seek and you will find. Knock, and it shall be opened. Ask, and it shall be given." What are you diligently seeking peace, joy, purpose, or healing? Hebrews reminds us that God rewards those who seek Him earnestly.  Each parable reveals a process: discovery, decision, and a deed. The seeker found something of great value. He evaluated the cost and made the choice to release what he had in order to obtain what was better. Sometimes, we hold tightly to what's familiar, not realizing God has more in store. But when we let go of the old and trust Him, we step into divine abundance.

There was a discovery, the man was looking. There was a decision, he sold all he had. And there was a deed, he took ownership. In Christ, all of God’s promises belong to us. The Kingdom is not just near, it is ours to receive, to walk in, and to decree. Don’t give up if it didn’t work the first or second time. You may just be one more try away from your breakthrough.

The Kingdom Mandate

Discover it – Both men were seeking something valuable.

  • Decide it – Both sold everything they had to gain the treasure.
  • Deed it – They took ownership. It became theirs.

📖 Reflection: What is something you had to repeat because you didn’t get it right the first time? What did God teach you through that process?

💡 Action Step: Identify an area in your life that needs a second try. Commit it to prayer and pursue it with faith, believing that breakthrough is coming.

Refocus Your Faith: How to Overcome Distraction, Disappointment, and Discouragement

Refocus Your Faith: How to Overcome Distraction, Disappointment, and Discouragement "For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision has any value. The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love."   Galatians 5:6 (KSB)    With everything going on around us, it's easy to feel lost. Distractions come quickly, disappointments pile up, and discouragement sneaks in. We all face these moments. But even when we get off track, there is a way back and that path is through our faith, principles, and core values.  When you live your life anchored in principles, it gives you a compass for when the road gets unclear. Knowing your vision, your mission, and your core values makes it easier to realign when life feels out of control. But if you don’t know who you are, how can you get back to being your best self? If you don’t know what you stand on, what can you stand up on after a fall?    Clarity of purpose keeps you ...

There’s a Grace on Your Life

There’s a Grace on Your Life "By grace you have been saved, through faith and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God."    Ephesians 2:8 (KSB)    In Ephesians chapter 2, one word stands out repeatedly: grace . But what is grace? Grace is God’s unmerited favor, His love poured out on us, not based on anything we've done or failed to do. It’s not about what we think or don’t think. It’s simply a gift. A beautiful, divine surprise.  Imagine receiving an unexpected bonus at work, you did your job, and suddenly you're given more than you earned. That’s grace. It comes when you least expect it and fills you with joy and wonder. This is how God extends His grace freely, abundantly, and lovingly.  Throughout Ephesians 2, Paul highlights how grace is woven into our salvation. “By grace you are saved” means you didn’t do it yourself. Salvation is the awakening in your spirit to the truth that  you are God's beloved .   ...
