Stretch

Read – Mark 3:1-6
Scripture: “Jesus said to the man stretched out your hand. He
stretched it out and it became whole like the other hand (Mark 3:5).”

Denial: “Physical limitations will not hinder my success and
advancement.”

Affirmation: “I stretch beyond my comfort zones and grow
beyond my familiar places.”

Ever since I can remember I always desired to be a preacher. When I was a little boy, I played church with my cousins and my friends, and I was always the preacher, the pastor, or the bishop. My first
congregation was my teddy bears, my Incredible Hulk, my Ken, and my Gi-I-Joe action figures. I actually began preaching to a full audience inclusive of adults when I was 7 years old. I was so nervous
preaching in front of a live audience of hundreds of people. It was a stretch for me, but I rose to the challenge and answered the call. When it was time for me to chose a college and a major, I had to
stretch beyond my family expectations and societal norms. I chose schools where I was able to major in Religious Studies and Theology because I desired to be the best preacher that I was able to be.
At 19, I was called to stretch beyond my comfort zone and to establish a local assembly with my family, fraternity brothers, and other university colleagues. For 20 years, I was bi-vocational being
a school administrator and leading a congregation as well. God called me to stretch again at 44 when I was commissioned to move to Florida to pursue full-time ministry. Five years later, I was called to leave my established congregation in the Unity denomination and to start Today’s Church Tampa Bay. With these two locations, one in Tampa and another in St. Petersburg, I was given the opportunity to advance the Kingdom Movement.

Jesus, our Wayshower, often called people to stretch in order to receive their miracle and other changes that they were seeking. The man with the withered hand had to stretch beyond his nervousness and become the center of attention in the temple. Jesus also invited him not to hide his withered hand but to stretch it out so until it became whole like the other hand. It is impossible to follow Jesus’ example and not stretch beyond your comfort zone and your familiar place.

Reflection Question: In what areas of your life is God calling
you to stretch beyond your comfort zones and familiar places?

Why Me? God’s Glory (Romans 8:18) Why? That's a question often in our Souls. Why is this happening to me? Why am I having this experience? Why am I facing this health challenge? There's an answer! Why am I having these relationship challenges? There’s an answer, and it’s the same one. Why am I having this financial challenge? There’s an answer! There’s an answer to every question in your Soul, and the answer is glory. The reason for every experience in your life is so that God can get the glory. The purpose of all our challenges is not to bring us down but to transform us and bring glory to God. Why am I having this test, this trial, this tribulation? So God can get the glory. Why am I experiencing this persecution, this headache, this pain? So, God can get the glory. Why am I witnessing this miracle, sign, or wonder? So, God can get the glory. Why am I having this challenge in my local assembly, in my ministry, in my business, and in my organization? So God can get the...

There’s a Grace on Your Life

There’s a Grace on Your Life "By grace you have been saved, through faith and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God."    Ephesians 2:8 (KSB)    In Ephesians chapter 2, one word stands out repeatedly: grace . But what is grace? Grace is God’s unmerited favor, His love poured out on us, not based on anything we've done or failed to do. It’s not about what we think or don’t think. It’s simply a gift. A beautiful, divine surprise.  Imagine receiving an unexpected bonus at work, you did your job, and suddenly you're given more than you earned. That’s grace. It comes when you least expect it and fills you with joy and wonder. This is how God extends His grace freely, abundantly, and lovingly.  Throughout Ephesians 2, Paul highlights how grace is woven into our salvation. “By grace you are saved” means you didn’t do it yourself. Salvation is the awakening in your spirit to the truth that  you are God's beloved .   ...

You Are in God’s Will: How to Receive Your Divine Inheritance

You Are in God’s Will: How to Receive Your Divine Inheritance "In whom also we have obtained an inheritance because we were predestined according to the purpose of God, who works all things after the counsel of Divine Will."  Ephesians 1:11    Affirmation: My health is optimal because it’s God’s will that all of my relationships are harmonious.                                                    Ephesians 1:11 reminds us that we have obtained an inheritance through Christ. If earthly parents and grandparents can leave behind an inheritance of tangible and intangible value land, homes, recipes, wisdom, or even prayer, how much greater is the inheritance from our heavenly Father?  An inheritance implies that someone thought of you before their passing, made intentional plans, and had a desire for your future. Similarly,...
