I Survived to Stay Alive so I Can Thrive (Ezekiel 17:10)

In today's world, our status on social media platforms seems to be a reflection of our current mood, company, and location. We are constantly asked questions like, "How are you feeling?" "Who's with you?" and "Where are you?" and we often respond with emojis to convey our emotions.

Interestingly, in the book of Ezekiel in the Bible, the prophet Ezekiel poses a similar question about the status of Israel. He notes that they may be physically planted in a certain soil, in a particular place, but what is their true status? Are they thriving, or are they struggling? Are they faithful, or are they straying from their beliefs?

This comparison highlights the importance of looking beyond the surface level and evaluating our true status, both online and in real life. It challenges us to consider not only how we appear to others, but also how we are truly feeling, who we are surrounded by, and where we are headed in our lives.

So, the next time someone asks you for your status on social media, take a moment to reflect on your true status in all aspects of your life. Are you truly happy, surrounded by supportive loved ones, and on the right path? Or is it time to reassess and make some changes for the better?

Some of us find ourselves in a state of survival. We have survived heartbreak, headaches, pain, trauma, drugs, divorce, separation, repossession, and countless other challenges. We have been put out, passed over, and faced adversity in various forms. But merely surviving is not enough. Surviving is about staying alive so that we can truly live our best lives and be our best selves.

Surviving allows us to declare the works of the Lord and continue on our journey of growth and self-improvement. We survive so that we can thrive, not just for ourselves but also to support and uplift others. It is essential to not only live our best lives but also to be a source of inspiration and guidance for those around us.

By staying alive and thriving, we have the opportunity to give life to others, to provide support, resuscitation, and a helping hand to those in need. We can be a beacon of hope and a source of strength for those who are struggling, helping them to find their way back to life and providing the support they need to sustain and thrive.

In essence, surviving is not the end goal but rather a stepping stone towards a life of purpose, fulfillment, and service to others. It is through our own survival and thriving that we can make a positive impact on the lives of those around us, bringing light, hope, and inspiration to all who need it.

It is not merely enough to survive and have an abundant life; true thriving occurs when you are able to embody the essence of living bread and living water. Thriving means being the embodiment of resurrection and life, breathing new life into those around you and guiding them back to their true selves.

When you are able to be the living bread, you nourish and sustain others, providing them with the sustenance they need to grow and flourish. Similarly, being the living water means offering refreshment and renewal to those who are weary or lost, quenching their thirst for guidance and support.

As the embodiment of resurrection and life, you have the power to bring people back to life, helping them rediscover their purpose, passion, and inner strength. By being a source of inspiration and empowerment, you can guide others on their journey towards self-discovery and personal growth.

In essence, true thriving is not just about personal success and abundance but also about being a beacon of light and transformation for others. It is about using your own vitality and wisdom to uplift and empower those around you, helping them to awaken to their full potential and lead a life of fulfillment and purpose.

Why Me? God’s Glory (Romans 8:18) Why? That's a question often in our Souls. Why is this happening to me? Why am I having this experience? Why am I facing this health challenge? There's an answer! Why am I having these relationship challenges? There’s an answer, and it’s the same one. Why am I having this financial challenge? There’s an answer! There’s an answer to every question in your Soul, and the answer is glory. The reason for every experience in your life is so that God can get the glory. The purpose of all our challenges is not to bring us down but to transform us and bring glory to God. Why am I having this test, this trial, this tribulation? So God can get the glory. Why am I experiencing this persecution, this headache, this pain? So, God can get the glory. Why am I witnessing this miracle, sign, or wonder? So, God can get the glory. Why am I having this challenge in my local assembly, in my ministry, in my business, and in my organization? So God can get the...
The Sacred Sunday Posture:  Kneeling “ A man with leprosy came to him and begged him on his knees; if you are willing, you can make me clean (Mark 1:40).” In addition to bowing your heads and closing your eyes, many people learn to “get on your knees and pray.” Often, it’s at night before going to sleep. Parents instruct their children to kneel on the side of the bed and say their prayers. Perhaps you have fond memories of kneeling and reciting the Lord’s Prayer or the 23 rd Psalm. Or maybe you were taught, like me, “Now I lay me down to sleep. I pray the Lord my soul to keep. If I should die before I wake. I pray the Lord, my soul, to take. God bless mommy, daddy...” Kneeling is a physical way to revere God as your Creator and remember that God is your Source. “Know that it is the Lord, who is God. It is he that has made us and not we ourselves. We are his people and the sheep of his pasture (Psalm 100:3).” Without reverencing and ...

Where Is the Love? Learning to Recognize God's Presence Through Galatians 5

Where Is the Love?    One of my favorite duets is by Donny Hathaway and Roberta Flack: "Where Is the Love?" It asks, "Where is the love that you said you would give to me?" It's a timeless question and one that’s just as spiritually relevant today.    In Galatians 5 , Paul writes to the churches in Galatia about the contrast between the works of the flesh and the fruit of the Spirit. He helps believers understand how to discern what’s truly of God. And here's the spiritual compass: love is God's signature . "And envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God."   Galatians 5:21 (KSB)    Whatever you do whether it’s cooking a meal or making a major decision ask yourself: "Where is the love?" Is love your motive? Is love present in your tone, your actions, your intentions?  Paul’s letter urges us to determine whether we are operati...
